As a microbiologist, I have come to appreciate the importance of natural remedies against its synthetic drugs counterpart.

Aside from the fact that the natural treatments are less expensive like the confectionary drugs, it also works faster, and it works deep down ton the root cause of the problem, while synthetic drug only suppresses it for the meantime. In this light, let’s consider some natural remedies that can help facilitate quick and easy deworming of your dog.

  • Grapefruit seed extract
5 to 10 drops per 10 pounds (4.5 kg) of dog weight per day mixed with feed.

  • Garlic
Garlic has been discovered over the years to contain several medicinal properties both for men and animals, and those that know its essential always reap its benefits.

When your dog is invested with worms, one of the natural remedies you want to consider is garlic. If you provide it with caution, garlic is as effective as ivermectin. Give 1/2 to 2 cloves of garlic per day to your dog according to the weight. Before consulting with your veterinarian.

  • Pumpkin seeds
You can give them as a reward or footsteps and mixed in their food. Give a teaspoon every 10 pounds (4.5 kg) of weight every day. This will eject and prevent worms. One good thing about pumpkin seeds is that unlike several other natural treatments which are harmful to your puppy health during pregnancy or lactation, this seed is all time relevant without any side effect to your dog’s health.

  • Black Seed
Like its pumpkin counterpart does not have any adverse effect on your animal during pregnancy or lactation. This seed was said to have been used over the ages to combat various kind of diseases with proven result.

Black seed can be preheated to get rid of its bitter taste so that will not discourage your dog. Grind the preheated seed to powder and mix at a considerable quantity with your dog meal, and the worm will be getting rid of.

  • Diatomaceous earth
The TD is effective with the worms but not so much with the tapeworm. If you are going to use it, remember to mix it well with the food because its volatile powder can damage your lungs if it is inhaled. Give half a teaspoon per day to small dogs and one to animals over 20 kg.

This herb is capable of getting rid of round and whip-like worms.

  • Black walnut
It is an herb entirely useful to deworm your dog if you use it correctly because the wrong dose can do you wrong. It is perfect for eliminating intestinal and heart parasites. If the other options did not work, it surely will.

  • Oregon grape
This herb is a perfect anti-parasitic and even works well as an antibiotic tonic. It is used as a tincture, about 12 drops per 20 pounds (9kg). It should not be used in pregnant dogs or with liver diseases.

  • Fruits and vegetables
Various foods such as grated raw carrot, watercress, fennel, papaya or pumpkin, and several others can help make your dog's intestinal tract become less predispose to worms. Orange, vegetables also provide vitamin A, which can help eliminate roundworms.

The above-listed foods and several others can help improve the weight of the body weight of your dog. But it must not be overdone to avoid complications.

  • Dried coconut
Dried coconut is very useful in eliminating tapeworms’ infestations in the dogs. This powder can be sprinkled in a small quantity of 1 tablespoon for a young dog or 2 for adult.

  • Garlic
Garlic is beneficial for boosting the immune system of dogs and help facilitate quick removal of mucus from the dog stomach wall. Peel and chop the garlic and let stand at room temperature for a minimum of 15 minutes, allowing the allicin to be released.

Give the following doses:

Small dogs ΒΌ clove twice a day, medium-sized dogs Β½ clove twice a day, large dogs ΒΎ clove twice a day, giant breeds 1 clove twice a day. Your thoughts may raise with a question that is which is the best dewormer for a dog in the market nowadays.
